Othello Impressions

1. As a reader you get the impression that Desdemona and Othello are rebellious characters. They probably believe in true love, and want to keep a respectable relationship with their families as well as with themselves. 
2. The big controversy seems to be that Othello is a much older black man that falls in love with Desdemona, a young white girl. Obviously there are predictable complications that will be sprouting soon. Already there is a jealous Iago who wants to destroy their relationship. 
3. "Secondhand information is reliable" Iago wishes to destroy Othello and Desdemona's relationship so he runs to Desdemona's father to explain to him how they "eloped". He believes him even though it is only secondhand information. Desdemona's father then goes in her room to find that she is not there proving the information to be correct
